As easy as hydrothermal reaction of milk at 180 C for 4 hours. Original paper here http://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/ac502646x I have done nothing new with these as of yet but noone has applied them to oxidation reduction reaction in fuel cells or supercapacitors so it will be interesting to see the results.
