as boat brain! (thank to @Nate Bowen that helped me making the final decision)

Wind direction and speed sensor
anemometer to get direction operated by a magnetic shaft encoder (this one is perfect for the purpose: http://www.usdigital.com/products/ma3#description)and small DC motor to generate electricity and mesure wind speed, I have seen a nice project on Thingverse and I’m probably going to make something similar to these with some mods: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:952978

Solar panels in parallel
all over the deck, small ones like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/6V-4-5W-720mA-Mini-Mono-solar-Panel-small-solar-cell-PV-module-charger-/252187445587?hash=item3ab78b0953:g:Pp8AAOSwHjNV-jYd I decided to put them in parallel in order to avoid the failure of the system if one of them fries.

DC motor
for the propeller (activated in case of battery’s fully charged) Yet to be decided if I will put this.

IMU
I will go for an antishock IMU, yet to be decided wich one, I'have one from my quadcopter that I will probably cannibalize

I'm building one :) More details in the logs..

RockBLOCK Mk2
it uses an Iridium 9602 satellite modem to send short messages from the boat to the base station and vice-versa. This will allow to check the navigation status and get values from the sensor and eventually to remotely change the route (in case of very bad weather predictions on the route)

charge controllers
for the solar panels this one: https://www.cooking-hacks.com/documentation/tutorials/arduino-solar/ and for the wind turbine I'll probably go with this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Charge-controller-ADG-BRAIN-only-12-volt-wind-turbine-solar-panel-440-10-000-/231482659403?hash=item35e571124b:g:7WcAAOSw3xJVfIfm
