This project is being worked on as my Final Year Engineering Project. I began researching flexible fencing methods in early January, and found there was a number of studies that showed livestock, usually cattle, were able to learn to stay within an invisible boundary using audio cues, with an electric shock as a training tool/deterrent. The devices used in these studies were usually prototype solutions that were good for short term testing but weren't ready to be used permanently to contain animals.

The aim of my project is to create a sturdy and power efficient collar that could be used on livestock for extended periods of time, with the ability to easily update the position of the fence using an web interface. With only about six months till I have to present my project I will have to work to a fairly tight schedule (amongst my other units). With that in mind I created the following Gantt chart to provide me with appropriate deadlines for each stage.
