Boards, stencil and parts ordered
05/02/2016 at 20:47 • 9 commentsI did ordered a first batch of three prototype boards from OSH-Park. Compared to the last log there where not many changes, but I made some nice renders of this "rev0" board:
I did order stencils from OSH stencils and all missing parts as this tiny 2016 crystal. This crystal is also a optional part. The internal oscillator of the ATmega could be also used for first tests. But if using UART and high baud rates it was never reliable in earlier circuits.
I will soon publish at least the gerber files int the github repository.

More Layouting
04/29/2016 at 22:16 • 0 commentsSo with the added Crystal and the two capacitors for it, I think it is ready now. You can see it right side of the Microcontroller on the image. The Crystal is a 2016 package and the two capacitors are 0201 (I hope I will get soldered that). The silkscreen marking looks also nicer now.
On the top side there are no big changes.

Layouting goes on
04/28/2016 at 20:24 • 0 commentsThe layout of the PCB is now nearly ready. I did clean up some of the traces and also did moved some vias out of pads. Now there is now via left inside a pad. The vias itself are also smaller now. Here are two pictures if the top and bottom layer:The two inner layers are not shown, but there are mostly just two planes for Vcc and GND and not many traces.
I am planning to use OSH Park's 4 Layer service for a first prototype. But first there are some thinks to do:
- find a oscillator, crystal or resonator that is small enough
(I think the size 2016 will fit, but not tested yet) - Clean up both silkscreen Layers
- find a oscillator, crystal or resonator that is small enough

Layouting first image
