So after some research, I've decided to use BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) to connect all the devices in the room to the control center, which will then be connected to wifi. That being said, my next step will be to design an efficient, low cost device that will allow me to send commands to the control center via wifi, which will then delegate that command to the BLE-enabled devices. If anyone has experience working with BLE, any advice would be much appreciated.
