The most critical part of the PCB will be the glucose test strip connector to my surprise. Only a few companies like Ample Technologies will provide those test strip connectors. I learned that these test strip connectors are protected by patents and IPs. You need to answer a lot of questions if it is for personal hobby or education use or for prototyping phase which eventually goes into mass production.

I am in contact with Ample Technologies now. Let's see, if they will provide some samples of connectors, suitable for the ONE TOUCH ULTRA test strips...

In the mean time I found a Taiwanese company called Switchtech which has a connector suitable for the ONE TOUCH ULTRA test strips. They will provide 50 samples FOC, I only need to pay for the shipment. I attached the datasheet under FILES.

The two strip detect pins are connected if the test strip is correctly inserted.

I think they only want to do business with a company. I ordered the samples through my company.

Thanks. Switchtech has responded. Ample Tech is actually official distributor of switchtech components. Through Ample tech I could get in touch with SwitchTech now. They told me they'll send the samples soon.

Thanks a lot. I've designed board with this connector. enquired the availability of the same connector with Ample technologies. How did you received the sample from Switchtech. They are not even responding to any of my emails.
