If we want to produce our own glucose test strips, we need glucose oxidase. I have still no clue where to buy glucose oxidase or if I will be able to produce it by myself (extracted from the fungus Aspergillus niger?), but I came up with a glucose oxidase detection reagent in the mean time. The idea is as following:
Unfortunately I run out of test strips, so I need to buy more to pursue my idea of a glucose oxidase detection reagent.

Thanks, Tom. I ordered 10g over my company.
Edit: Sigma Aldrich alias Merck sucks. Even as a company you need to do a lot of paper work. Will cancel this order.

Looks tougher to find than I thought. If you haven't found it yet try looking at the links from Washington University ( http://libguides.wustl.edu/c.php?g=46849&p=300021 ) and search using the CAS numbers (beta-D-Glucose oxidase CAS# 9051-05-2, Glucose Dehydrogenase CAS# 9028-53-9). I was not sure from your reply if you found it and ordered or not, so I thought I'd forward more resources if you still needed them. Good luck!

SigmaAldrich carries it (Fisher Scientific probably carries it also):

Scroll down or click on the tab to the right (Related Links/Product list), either way takes you down to what you can order.
Many strips also use GDH - glucose dehydrogenase as a reagent.
