One day last winter I had this stupid idea without a particular reason...

A simple cheap musicbox from ebay, mounting bracket, a plastic sphere for decoration stuff... if combined, these things create a wonderful annoying noise maker that is an absolute killer of concentration.

It plays Elfen Lied - Lilium, at least if the wind is steady. Else it just plays a few notes at once every few minutes.

Material cost is below 10 Eur, should be doable in a few hours.

there is no spring in there, just a worm drive which drives the drum.
