no color organ this go round, due to time constraints. I did however find a way using a couple locking tack switches to have it run four different static patterns
So Saturday went well, I got everything assembled and all but the button and mic hooked up. Today, (7/31) not so much. I finished the soldering and went to start the last of the code since I could now work on the actual hardware when disaster struck. First the pro mini started smoking when I hooked it up to my laptop, unexpected since it worked and blinked when I tested it with a battery pack. ( I was shipped a 3.3v Pro Mini and I had a short in the neopixels) So, back to the bench I went, then I accidentally knocked it off the bench while disconnected the burnt board, and the main gem (defcon logo) popped off. When it rains it pours. It's now 5 pm and I back to where I was when I went to bed last night.
All parts have been printed, for the "Gems" I used transparent PLA and for the base and some other parts "Gunmetal Gray". all the gray parts were then coated with silver nail polish, followed by a top coat of silver glitter. The transparent parts received a topcoat of clear nail polish with iridescent glitter. Additional clear acrylic gems have been added for extra bling.
The hardware is still WIP, I have the perfboard for the button done and I have some of the neopixels soldered together but had to stop last night when I had to reglue one of the gems.
Code is at about 45%, I have one mode completed and running on a test bar of neopixels and the other mode should hopefully work better with the adafruit mic.
