I received my Printrbot Simple Metal in the summer of 2015 and since then I have been having a great time. Though my experience has been fun, I want to fix issues that will make my experience better and give my printer some personality.

If you're familiar with 3D printing, then you must've heard of Octoprint. Octoprint takes your raspberry pi and creates a local server for your printer so you can print from any web browser. You can also hook up a camera so you can see your print from anywhere. I am not going to show you how to setup because there amazing tutorial out on youtube. I used a raspberry pi 3, raspberry pi camera, sd card, micro usb cable and wifi dongle to complete this project.
For the case, I needed something mounted on the bed because the camera cable is short and the camera needs to be mounted on the bed.
Printing Little things for your printer from the start can change your whole experience in how you use your printer every day.
FINGER FLOBBER
If your someone like me who is constantly changing filament and this is NEEDED for your printer. They are many designs that solve this problem but this one in particular is the most elegant and I am also able to cool my extruder without anything being in the way.
Just like the last one, there are many fan ducts out there and one is probably the best one out there. It flows the air around the extruder so it can cool the print opposite to the fan.
This upgrade is not the most necessary but is a good idea. This upgrade it to avoid the wire harness from touching the heated bed and any strain the wires are having.
WiFi is onboard the Raspberry Pi 3. Why the dongle?
