Keeping it cool
11/13/2016 at 14:23 • 0 commentsI learned that when you print small parts an additional fan is required to cool the part down as quick as possible. After many iterations this was the design I came up with.
I printed this in three parts: the main body to hold both fans, the nozzle and a strain relief for the wires.
And here is the final result with everything attached to my printer.

Printing laptopless
11/12/2016 at 22:08 • 0 commentsIn the last couple of months I've done some modifications to my 3D printer. First thing I added was a LCD with rotary encoder, having the printer attached to my laptop, which was not very convenient since prints can take hours and I only have only laptop. To mount the LCD I used my CNC to mill a small housing that fit on the front of the printer. To finish this off I added some switches to for the LEDs and fans and used my laser to etch some text.
