Stream feeds to youtube live.
Deploy sensors into grow beds. ebb n flow pots, worm beds, fish tanks.
Monitor water level, water flow, grow bed Ph, Fish Tank Ph.
Using python build out apps to control systems events & changes.
Deploy Alexa skill to do system checks via Amazon Echo

Details

Build a healthy aquaponics system.

Add old android phones to provide video of fish tanks.

Using OBS stream feeds to youtube live.

Using Debian based virtual machines to provide MariaDB to store all sensor readings.

Deploy sensors into grow beds. ebb n flow pots, worm beds, fish tanks.

Monitor water level, water flow, grow bed Ph, Fish Tank Ph.

Determine best solution for PPM meter to monitor and record.

Attach all sensors to an Arduino connected via VoCore

Track PPM in water across the need items for optimal plant growth & fish health.

Using WeMo switch automate an ebb and flow system with bash / python scripts to run pumps based on sensor readings.

VoCore + WeMo ebb N flow hack

WeMo Insight Switch
Cost: $49.99 (Amazon.com)
VoCore: $39.99
Control: WeMo App
My goal turn the WeMo on for 10mins
to drains the tables into the pond.
Then turn it off for 20mins to ebb the deep water beds.
Repeat 24hrs per day.
WeMo required start on the hr then auto-shut off.
24 hrs - 24 Timers in the Wemo App.
Not going to work.
Solution,
1. Join VoCore to My WiFi Network
2. Connect via ssh
3. Install python on VoCore (OpenWRT)
4. Download WeMo python app
5. Setup bash script to turn on the flow
& hold the ebb (Outputs to a txt log)
6. Test
7. Deploy

To keep track of what is in the garden, I am using crop planning by clayton carter.
To keep as much portable as possible, I have built out a Debian net install VM in VirtualBox.
Added lxde gui - VM auto launches logs in and starts crop planner.jar
I use the VMs as they allow simple fast way to transfer whole machine solution to AWS.
