Yann Guidon / YGDES@al1 found that his 4014 LEDs have a reverse protection diode. I found the same and made the v.2 layout.
Today, I started to solder the #DYPLED prototype so I opened a new batch of LED (warm white instead of neutral) and... NO DIODE !
Alex, don't throw your PCB away, I'll solder mine and see what can be done. I'll see if I could send you a few diodeless LEDs :-)
So in the end, there are 2 types of LEDs, hence 2 types of PCB...

okay these 4014 are a kind of nightmare for production. Better do not use them in multiplexing scheme were any diode character of the LED is needed.
I did changed my PCB order. It should be rev2 now, but I did not recieved them yet. The mail is still somewhere in the USA.

OK, in either case, just know that there is more than one way :-)
In the case of #DYPLED, fortunately I used an insensitive multiplexing scheme. But there are many differences between the cold white and warm white LEDs. Fortunately I have 3K of each so I can make small and medium runs :-)
