  • First brew. Fully manual.

tried first test brew. Fully manual at 27l volume. It is supposed to be an IPA so we are waiting for results, because at this moment is fermented wort quite bitter. Hopefully laying at cellar for few days fixes that.

Thanks a lot for tips. We are aiming to 50l volumes, so getting big enough fermentation vessel is going little bit problem since we need to keep price low. But we will focus on that.

We want to automate at first step mixing and temperature control for brewing vessel. Next step will hopefully going to be automation of transfer between vessels and last step is going to be automation of cooling. At this moment we are planning to keep manual adding of resources and everything after cooling phase.

What parts of the process are you planning to automate?

I highly recommend upgrading to glass for your fermentation vessels.  Polymer / bucket type fermenting setups are quite porous and no matter how much you try to sanitize your equipment, it absorbs / retains material from the previous batch.  Sometimes this results in slight flavor variations in your beer, but in some cases it can result in a ruined batch of beer.
