There are 0201 SMD LEDs available. An I want to try them out. So I made a 0201 Version of reDOT to test these LEDs (and trying to solder these LEDs). With these tiny LEDs the grid of the LED-Matrix is 40 mil. This is smaller than in original TIL-305 (50mil)
I hope I will be able to solder that.

Wow! I'm waiting for the outcome. Will you try to solder them by hand, or reflow?

Thanks!
Well, I did just soldered a first column on a early revision ( never revision is shown above; found error on the PCB) for testing. So far pretinning the pads with a soldering iron and then using hot air to solder the LEDs works. But no reflow oven is used. The most difficult part is also not the soldering, placing the LEDs is worse.

For the Images?
The first one is a color inverted screen shoot from eagle. The 3d model was made with help of eagleUp and sktechup.

Wow! Those are tiny. How big are the drills in those vias?

13mil (the smallest OSH-Park can do) And thy are compared to the LEDs quite big.
