The secondary coil is made from a pre-cut piece of ABS pipe, two end caps/plugs, a spool of magnet wire, and some clear polyurethane. I pre-coated the pipe section with polyurethane then wound the magnet wire before it dried. Despite mounting it on a lathe, I hand turned the whole coil.
When complete, I sealed the coil with additional coats of polyurethane and a clear spray sealant. It was wound with 26 AWG enameled copper wire, I estimate around 1000 feet were used. I don't yet know how many windings this actually ended up being, but I will figure it out by my next update.

Your secondary coils look beautiful. Is that a MOT on the primary power supply board? I definitely know the anxiety of going for "first light", I've fried a lot of silicon.
I can feel my hair standing on end from here. I love it :-D
Lordy...a thing of pure beauty, love that Cap :)
Oh, I forgot to ask, man how many windings on that secondary?
Lovely! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that first test run.
Nice work, can't wait to see it in action. Flip the switch!
