ColorChord - A Steampunk inspired creation

I have wired up the first oscillator and improved the lighting with a couple of led light strips bought at WalMart. I have a crystal ear bud at the output and can hear differences between the filters and color samples so progress is being made.

Made a big improvement to the test jig by adding black card stock to help reduce stray light from reaching the photo cell.

Yes, I agree that this setup looks very crude but yet it works surprisingly well and I am getting good solid repeatable data from it already.

Before I could continue with this idea, I had to learn how color filters work and using them with  CdS photo cells. The test jig is made with my usual building material, cardboard and even the test filters are DIY and made with cardboard and clear plastic colored with ink markers. So far I have had very promising results.
