1Introduction
Charge your phone when there is not current, no charger… was the idea of our project. We decided to build a project about convert human energy to electrical.
So, we built a charger for a cell phone with your hand.
The charger works on the principal of DC motor being used as a generator converting mechanical energy to electrical energy. But since the voltage required by a phone is 5V a voltage regulator IC 7805 is used to get the desired output voltage from the DC motor.

2How it works
When the shaft of the DC motor is rotated a DC voltage is induced at the terminals. But since its not possible for a human being to maintain a constant RPM of the shaft the output voltage of the motor keep varying at some time going beyond 5V which is above the save limit of the phones. Thus an IC 7805 is used to regulate the voltage and to make sure that we have a constant 5V.

4Building the circuit
We have done some solder on the motor and the female usb.
We plug all this component on the breadboard.
-
5Hand crank of the motor broken
We broke the hand crack of the motor by turning it. We had the idea the create another one by wood. We used a jigsaw to cut the wood:
To do a perfect square, cut the wood like a circle with the jigsaw and we polished the wood to have a perfect square.
After doing the hood crank, we tried to put it on the motor, but we broke it again. By the way we are gluing the old one on the motor. We plug a cell phone on it to try the circuit.

6Conclusion of the project
After check that’s all works we used a package of a 1/18 car to put the circuit into and the cell phone.
Here is the final project :
