Last night I worked on how to steer the wheel assembly. I always liked how old toys incorporated this type of motion, once it bumps into something, it just changes direction. I attached a servo arm to mine so I can steer the direction I want to go. The motor ran nicely using 5v and the roboShield motor output control.

The motor assembly even has an bonus feature where I get a contact closure (think encoder) for each revolution of the main gear that runs the axle :)
