A few years ago I had some speakers lying around and decided to build an amp for them. Here it is! It uses a couple of LM386 audio amps to do most of the signal amplification, some passives for a rudimentary equalizer, and some beefy transistors with beefier heatsinks as the output of the class-A amplifier. It has a homemade power supply that really needs to be upgraded - you can see a faint ripple in the 12V rail when the fan is turned on. Weighing in at just under 30W it maxes out its capability to sing around 100 dBA.
