JarrettSomeone donated, at rough estimate, 2 million LEDs to my local hackspace. It was something like 30 boxes full of 5000-count reels of white 3014 LEDs.
Just as a quick test, I did a panel for them. Ten rows of 3 in series.
I forgot to get a picture of them all lit up, but I think I ruined my eyes
Time for a lamp maybe?
These only took 5 minutes or so to build up, with a solder paste syringe and a reflow oven.

This ones are RGB but you can of course use only the white channel .
