What is the OhmDuino? That´s a very good question!!
It´s basicly a keychain with some fancy LEDs, a capacitive touchsensor and a unique shape, that honors the great achievements of Georg Simon Ohm and is actually the logo of our university, the TH Nürnberg.
It discribes our lifestyle full of making, building and DIY.
It´s the perfect starting point to get into electronics and programming.
It´s opensource.
Where can you get one ? There is an eBay-Store and a Tindie-Store to get one, but you can also make one yourself!! The Eagle-Files are free for everyone!!
How can you program it? Plug it into your USB-Port, load a sketch in the Arduino-Ide and let the the fun begin!!
Are there examples on how to get started? We wrote several sketches to show the basic functions of the OhmDuino. For easy access, they are all available in the download section of our Hackaday-Page.

- an Atmega32U4 with it´s built in USB-connection.
- an ISP-/SPI-port for burning bootloaders or programms on the µC.
- an I2C-port and additional connection points for VCC and GND, to enable modifications and connectivity.
- a PPTC-fuse to protect your OhmDuino and your PC from damage,
-> The Hackaday-Page of OhmDuino contains:
- programming examples with explanations in the commentline.
- a manual (for now only in English) on how to set up the OhmDuino and how to do the first steps.
- all needed files, like the schematics, to understand how the OhmDuino works.
-> The OhmDuino is a good choice for you, if you:
- are openminded.
- want to experience something new.
- see the world in 0 and 1.
- don´t know what counting binary looks like.
