You know when you order so many little parts and components from various places you forget what you've ordered, and a few months down the line they all start arriving and every day is like Christmas, and the parts that arrive actually solve some project problems that you didn't have when you ordered them?
Welcome to my Thursday!
Today's delivery of note: a Wemos D1.
ESP8266-based, and compatible with the Uno footprint, I'll be able to plug this into my enclosure instead of my Uno and have Wifi included without needing to add another module.
Wunderbar!!

I like the wemos D1 minis, but this sounds great :) I'm currently keeping my order lists on aliexpress and eBay as short as possible, but I love the "oh, another packet?" moments so much :D

Yeah I've got a few minis, but until recently I've never really tried to use them. The full size D1 just fits my enclosure perfectly, as it has the Uno-standard headers to plug it in to (https://www.hwhardsoft.de/english/webshop/raspibox/)
Instead of writing a sketch for the Uno, firing the captured data to the ESP8266 to then send to the server I can now just write it into the one script. I'm very happy about this :-)
Once the seed money comes through I just need to buy a pH sensor and Temp sensor then the hardware for this version will be finished!

Recomend for 3d printer? or mini mill? or uno just as good?

I'll let you know how I find the D1 matey.
As far as I'm aware the ESP8266 chip is a more powerful chip, and most Arduino libraries are compatible with it, so it should be ok to use it as a direct replacement.
I may be very wrong though ha ha.
