Description

Placeholder project page. Currently, I am testing using an Arduino Mega board to interface with the VFD, and an ESP8266 to control it.

did you do any more with this? I just purchased one off eBay, never used arduino before, but l have also ordered one of those... I have a lot of learning to do and could do with any assistance available ;)

Yes, just give it 5 volts (at several hundred mA...) and hook up the control lines - it uses an oldschool parallel bus. Not my repo but there is interface info here: https://github.com/cawapy/GU20X8/blob/master/gu20x8.md
