First Concept:
This video shows my rotor-flux brushless PCB Motor concept design. I took this project as a design challenge to make a tiny 3D motor prototype made from PCBs! It is just a proof of concept and as shown in the video my design has some issues but nothing that can't be fixed :)

Then, go even futher - try to eleminate layering method... how operate freely in space...:)

I wonder if smd inductors would not offer the same benefit of being light and not having to hand wind coils while being very cheap while providing much more field. A proper choice of ferrite cored version could even guide the field lines better but even an rf inductor with nonmagnetic core would provide much higher winding density than the pcb.
