After riding on a Lime electric scooter I knew that I wanted to experience it again. The lime scooters that were temporarily available around campus were speed limited if you were outside of a pilot path. I decided that I wanted no limitations to where I could ride and thus this project began. I plan to use this on my morning commute to campus and with it being foldable I can keep it with me inside.
Most of the electrical parts were sourced from Aliexpress including a 350W 36V Hub motor, motor controller, disk brakes, BMS, and 20 18650 lithium-ion cells. The scooter includes both front and rear shocks and is foldable.
Due to time constraints, I have decided to use a lot off the shelf components. Future designs include designing my own BMS system and scooter deck.
