Hey, that's pretty clever! That will reduce the risk of repetitive motion injury for sure. I know that elastic material can be hard to cut sometimes - have you had any instances of cuts that didn't quite work?

Hey Dan, thanks for your interest in the project. So far I've been cutting ~ 100m of elastic band (3-400 cuts) and didn't have a single failed cut. I hat worried about that at the start too, especially because the cutter is built quite flimsy. The only thing that seems to be important is to locate the "Extruder" as far back to the hinge of the knife as possible. If you try to cut the band in the middle of the blade, it won't work, because the blade deflects instead of cutting the band.

Ok, that it explains it. I couldn't understand why you were cutting the hinge end as that would be much slower. Now it makes sense. Well done.
