Was donated this beautiful suitcase that already had an IEC connector built in. Converted it into a portable electronics lab to be used in field work, at events like hacker camps at such. Has seen a lot of use (and wear...) by now, but still works and is useful. Nothing spectacular just yet another approach to this thing which many have done before me :-)
The work surface consists of a piece of magnetic sheet metal I had laying around, which I crudely bent into shape. The octopus arms (an idea I borrowed from other projects on this site) have neodymium magnets as their bases so they stick firmly to the surface. In order to avoid shorting out everything, there is an antistatic mat provided.
