Repeater-START is an open source application to list nearby amateur radio repeaters.
With the Librem phone and Pinephone coming up, I was wondering why all the well known repeater apps are only iOS or Android... so I built a Linux version for phone/desktop.
During this build I wrote up a 7 part posting on how I built this app:
The hearham.com repeater listing that backs this project, currently has a contest for radio amateurs that submit new repeaters or corrections. https://hearham.com/contest2022
If you are traveling this summer please consider adding to the list and improving the app.
Repeater-START is now available for Windows (Tested with Windows-8, Windows-10).
This new build was uploaded to sourceforge last week, and works like the Linux version, but without the locate-me button (No Geoclue build on Windows?)
The source code is on the Windows branch in Github.
2021 brought FreeDMR TGIF network DMR listening integration on hearham.live, many repeater listing updates, and bug fixes and updates for Repeater-START for both Android and Linux/Ubuntu/Raspbery Pi.
What did you use RepeaterSTART for this past year, and what would you like to see in the future? There's still time to participate in our 2021 users survey: https://hearham.com/survey2021
Just gave it a try on my Ubuntu laptop, looks good. Keen to follow developments. Great job!
