mutantC v3 - modular and powerful handheld PC

I am testing the new power circuit for v4, this black PCB are from PCBway and that helped me to quickly test out the new changes. The production was fast and i got the PCB within 3 days.

I had to make the v4 because of 2 reasons, the power supply is not enough and a lot of tiny mistake i made on the scolding pads. now those pads are bigger and easy to solder.

But V4 and v3 are not compatibles in the size so there is no drop in replacements.

I am thinking to use the module called MH-CD42 to replace the 2 module i am using for power.

i am thinking to use a USB C connector to replace the docking connector. THe only problem i am seeing is soldering and able to send tx/rx and i2c pins, as usb c have 4 pairs of pins, 1 pair for power, 1 for data, 1 pair cc and 1 pair for sbu. as cc used for Power delivery things so that pair can't be used.

What you guys think? any input is welcome.

Hi, My project is a small one and easy one. Even though hackaday covered v1 and v3 and got attention but i don't know why it did not covered v3 yet. V3 is the finest among other two and more easy to build. I hope hackaday will cover it in their blogs and let people know about it.

PART UPDATE

An update on headers, use this headers, 2.54mm pitch x 5mm height female headers instead of old size one.

i can't find that header in the amazon or aliexpress. fond this but they are smd part. if you find the part in through hole then let me know here.( I got mine from local shop)

As mutantC is a open source hardware and I am not capable to supply you guys one by tindy or other way, so kwlodraczyk took the job to supply you guys one by his own.
