There is room for another 8 x 8 matrix for more complex animations. The battery will probably be upgraded to a 500 mAh lipo as well. The Flora microcontroller will be upgraded to a HUZZAH32 Feather board with bluetooth. A companion app for Android and iOS is being developed to send custom messages and animations with settings for presets, 3rd party data sources (weather, twitter feed, etc) and more.
