This is looking rather promising! I love your simplifications on the PCB. I saw your Lalboard a couple of years ago but was rather intimidated by all the manual work and printing revisions that a custom one needed. Since then, I've made dozens of versions of my own, flat or curved keyswitch based keyboards and am still not satisfied with them, so I'm very much looking forward to seeing how your new design comes out. Honestly, I think if I had just gone with your IR based clusters initially, I'd probably be happy by now

Thanks! Yeah, one of my focuses for this version is definitely making it easier to make. I think it will still be a bit time-consuming, just due to the number of parts. But hopefully nothing too tricky -- other than maybe some of the fine SMD soldering on the main board... This will be my first time attempting that, so we'll see how it goes for me!. But I figure someone could order the boards assembled from the fab, if they don't have the tools/abilities for that.
