The Quest 3 got the lion kingdom's attention because of the price.  The cost of a minimal pair for basic displaying is not much more than the Xreal Air with lenses, yet the resolution is a lot higher.  It uses 2 diagonal 2064 x 2208 panels.  Horizontal resolution sadly is less than the Xreal Air because the panels are diagonal but there are more pixels overall.  They accept glasses.  The Xreal Air would require custom lenses.  

Then suddenly, all VR news vanished & the world was focused on AI.  The failure of the vision pro pushed a lot of investment out of head mounted displays for the last time. 

The death of remote work has taken away a lot of tools that might have aided commuting.  They saw head mounted displays as more of a remote collaboration tool than a commuting tool.  The push back against remote work is at the point where no-one is investing anything in remote collaboration to the level they were before 2020.  It's like the industry discovered the errors in its ways through mass adoption.
