1Start
We're going to make a nerve spiral. It is a game where you have to guide a metal loop along a spiral (or other shape) of metal wire. When you touch the spiral with the loop you will hear a noise and have to start over.
-
2Step 1
Cut one of the dupont wire's in half. Strip the wire for 1cm and fold the metal wires at the end in half.
Place the metal wires on the side of the battery marked with a +.
Attach the wires to the battery with a piece of tape and press it firmly.
-
3Step 2
Cut the crocodile clip lead in half. Strip the wire for 1cm and fold the metal wires at the end in half.
Stick the metal wires with a piece of tape on the other side of the battery. Make sure that the metal wires do not touch the edges of the battery. If you do, the battery short circuits and gets hot.
-
4Step 3
Insert the long leg of the buzzer into the dupont wire that you attached to the battery.
Insert the short leg of the buzzer into the dupont wire you have left (with the two black ends). If the connectors attached to the buzzer come loose, stick them on to the buzzer with a bit of sticky putty.
-
5Step 4
Cut the conductive wire into a piece of 15cm and a piece of 5cm. Make a shape from the long piece of wire.
Insert one side of this metal wire into the dupont wire (the one with the two black ends) from the previous step. Sometimes you have to push hard to get the metal wire to fit.
Stick the metal figure on the table with the sticky putty so that it stands upright.
-
6Step 5
Make a small loop on one side of the short piece of conductive wire. The loop should not be completely closed.
Clip the other side of the short piece of conductive wire into the alligator clip.
-
7Done!
Play the game by putting the loop around the figure and move it along the wire. When the buzzer goes off it's game over!
