After some dark incidents my Thinkpad X230 lost its charging port. Moreover I see growing popularity around USB type-C, cool GaN power adapters with type-C, my phone has type-C, my friend's laptops have type-C.
Buy cheap type-C to dell charger adapter (https://aliexpress.ru/item/4000298727514.html). It has PD trigger to get 20 V power from charger. Extract PD trigger board: usb type-C socket on one side and two power solder pads on another side.
Then make simple part on 3D-printer for holding PD board in place of old power socket. I attach FreeCAD and STL files but this part need some trimming modifications to fit into thinkpad body. Install PD board into holder part, fix it with epoxy and install assembly to laptop.
Solder the PD board: cut old power socket from cable with motherboard connector, then connect black wires to GND, red wires to +20V and blue wire to GND through 10K resistor.
