This robot is intended to find a balance between advanced functionality and accessible design and operation. On one hand is the desire to for an interactive, artificially intelligent helper robot to move about our makerspace to answer questions and independently observe, document, and assist with daily tasks. On the other is a desire to build something low-cost and understandable to beginner and intermediate roboticists.

The result is a staged approach intended to build a platform for ongoing development. The first stage is developing a mobile platform capable of independent navigation. This has been achieved by a Jetson Nano computer running ROS controlling a Roomba 595 over serial.
