The purpose of this project is to create hardware that fits into an original Gameboy form factor and is able to read original Gameboy cartridges.
I started this project because I wanted to learn how to build a handheld console and because I wanted to have a Gameboy with a larger screen than the original.
At its core sits a Xilinx Spartan 7 FPGA which is programmable by a USB-C to JTAG bridge.
This is amazing, I'm currently looking into building an FPGA handheld as well. Excited to read more from you, particularly about the BGA assembly :)
