With a little dremel work and sanding I was able to nicely seat a mini Corsair keyboard that was removed from its housing. I had also liked the idea of wrapping a Zaps cable with the aviation-style GX16 connector around the bar used for the fax paper.
I kept the board used for the power switches and LEDs to run my own and added a safe powerblock hat to the pie with a power switch wired to the back of the machine.
Additionally to keep the form factor tight and slick, I used a power pack that had a retractable plug. A 8.8 LCD with housing cause it gave me more room to neatly tuck away the cables. Then I used small speakers used for inside motorcycle helmets that connect to a 3.5mm jack.
Very cleanly done! If anyone wants the notes i made for hackypuff's keyboard i likely still have those around. Isn't the 703 a nice casing to work with?! The latching clear lid leaves innards protected but accessible.
