Our project is to make two prosthetic hands which will be used as gripping aids.
They are mainly created for people who have athritis ( joints that hurt while making movements).
Our goal is to make two different hands: one that works manually and the other with a motor.
We didn't make the entire hands but several rings per finger which we then attached together with fishing strings. To make the rings, we used hand molding plastic granules. Here's how it works:
the granules are put in burning water which allows it to melt and become moldable. Then it hardens with the cold.
