I was working on a power supply project and needed a small electronic load gizmo that could briefly sink 5-200mA at 0-300V.
Just making this on a stock proto board and leaving it on my bench as a pile of parts was not an option; a screwdriver or some random part could roll into contact with the pile and then I could have the beginnings of a very bad day.
I needed a small insulated (plastic) platform that could hold various parts as well as controls, so I did not have to hold a control in one hand and adjust it with the other.
From experience I know that having all the parts and controls of a gizmo screwed down keeps unwanted contact to a minimum while using the gizmo.
After a few iterations, I came up with this. It's sufficient for my needs and can be built and modified easily. Peel-and-stick rubber feet keep the platform stable on the bench.
My gizmo is still an eyesore, but that's a posting for another day...
