To free the Avata from the expensive DJI batteries, I have developed this mod. With it, standard 4S LiPo/LiIon batteries can be used.

@AirCruiser Did you have any luck finishing the project? Can you share anything about it?
when I tried to remove avata battery cell and connected to another lipo battery, then I powered on the avata battery, 4 led blinking 3 times. I thing the smart logic board has locked. Can it fixed? Thank you.
How did you open the original battery?
Is that battery locked or not?
If you want to remove the battery without locking the circuit, you can try the method below.
⛔ NOTE: This guide is for professionals only, do not repair if you do not know anything and do not have repair tools. Here's how to remove the battery when the BMS circuit is not locked. Do this carefully step by step. It may cause a fire or explosion if the terminals touch each other.
Step 1: Let the battery pause for 5 minutes - 10 minutes, do not plug in the charger, do not press the test button, do not press the power button to turn on the light.
Step 2: Next, connect a 10k ohm resistor in series to each lipo battery cell
(⛔ Be careful not to let the positive and negative poles of the battery cell touch each other, causing a fire or explosion or possibly damaging the circuit and BMS circuit. Lock. )
Step 3: If you're careful and don't want to clog the circuit, solder a parallel voltage across the 4s "Lipo or Li-ion" battery (14.8v equals the voltage of the current DJI Avata battery, only takes 14.8v Do not solder the voltage of the balance wire).
You can solder the XT60 male jack first, then plug in the 4s battery.
Step 3: Next, carefully remove each Lipo battery cell of the “DJI Avata Battery”. If possible, remove it with ceramic, non-conductive scissors.
Step 4: After removing all the Lipo battery cells of the "DJI Avata Battery", the last step is to remove the XT30 or XT60 jack.
The image below is a typical example.
Good luck..
