DAP Architecture
The DAP architecture consists of a Raspberry Pi Pico, an E– Ink display, EEPROM memory, a motion sensor, an RGB LED, a push button, a touch joystick, a flat lithium ion battery, and a 3-D printed case. Circuit Python is used for the prototype software. The motion sensor enables powering of the Pico which in turn shuts off power to Itself after a reminder is displayed. Any number of categories of reminders may be stored and displayed, and EEPROM memory stores the previous reminder to ensure a new reminder is displayed each time. Each DAP device can be programmed to display any category. The user can change the category on the DAP using the push button and touch controls. The USB on the Pico is used to recharge the lithium ion battery. The standby current of the DAP is less than 100 µA. A 1200 mAh battery will typically provide several weeks of operation before requiring recharging.
