Introduction

Wheelchairs are used by disabled people in daily life. Mostly the wheelchair is used by the elders

and the partially disabled are the people with the highest rates of sing both manual and electric wheelchairs.

Wheelchair users face difficulties while maneuvering an electrical and mechanical wheelchair.

The engineers and scientists use different technologies to overcome the difficulty faced by the disabled

while operating the wheelchair. The main goal of engineers is to provide facilities for abnormal people

by using technologies and to make their lives easier and more flexible. The technologies provide

easiness for the problems that are faced by humankind.

The present technologies use accurate control. Our goal is to design a system that receives a signal

from the brain and moves accordingly. Here system we mean the accumulator sensor. The sensor work

is to convert the raw form of the signal into an electrical signal. The different waves that are produced in the

brain such as alpha, beta, gamma, delta, and theta, etc through which we can control wheelchairs.

2 Problem Statement

The wheelchair is a good invention for abnormal patients and it made the lives of the patients easier

but the wheelchair needs some sort of source for movement like moving the wheels by hand. It is

easier for younger patients in some scenarios but in most cases like old patients or patients with arm

disabilities, this invention is useless. To overcome these problems and limitations, engineers

introduce the mechanics to make it easy to operate like the hand rotatory system, remote system, joy stick

system gear system, etc.

The achievements of the engineers are to achieve comfort in any case and make the environment for

the disabled friendlier. All the systems of wheelchair which was invented earlier is capable for patients

where the upper body of a patient is moveable but still some of the patients like cerebral palsy in which

the brain is working but the muscles of the body are not in full function, we develop a wheelchair in

which a sensor is used to sense the brain signal and communicate it with microcontroller and then with

a wheelchair. It can be used by any person with an active brain, with no need for physical control.

3 Objectives of the Project

The first and most important objective is to facilitate the disabled persons in our society by providing

them with brain-controlled wheelchairs improving their quality of life and making them independent of others.

To provide easiness to disabled persons.

To make the project simple, we use a microcontroller instead of a computer.

To make the system more efficient.

To help the disabled people to move freely and independently.

To avoid complications we use a wireless system between the brain and the wheelchair.

4 Literature Review

In the beginning, the wheels were introduced to the chair to provide mobility for the patients but for movement, some sort of energy is required, which is provided by either a person by himself or someone else. The patients like elders and paralyzed were completely dependent on others making them a burden on society. To overcome such problems, engineers and scientists started working to make their lives independent from others and make them honorable individuals like normal ones. In numerous research studies and approaches different collaboration in a wheelchair has been invented such as joystick-based control system, gear-based system, chain-based system, and remote system, etc all these wheelchairs are for patients where the upper body is movable but what about fully paralyzed patients or patients who have no physical moment in their body, to overcome this problem we need a wheelchair where no physical interference is required.

The fully paralyzed patients or patients who have no physical moment in their body, to overcome this
