First day at the field
12/19/2023 at 00:36 • 0 commentsI thankfully by chance got past the problems I was having. I had to swap GPIO pins out since they were getting stuck in active high... I changed:
- GPIO 1 to 22
- GPIO 20 to 16
- GPIO 22 to 18
Also the OLED is hard to see in a super bright day like today (clear blue sky, sun about 30 deg in the sky)
I did not have the zoom-crop pan enabled yet so I was just trying to get the image somewhat clear before taking a picture. The code is still problematic but at least it all works now, just a matter of writing better code.
Mmm I like this pic
These are the "best" photos that came out, this is just calling picam2.capture_image() no custom settings yet and barely focused/contrasted images (aperture)
I did have some new ideas though like a timelapse mode and those camera settings

RIP 2 RPi Zeros
12/15/2023 at 02:40 • 0 commentsYeap... I killed em, slaughtered them like animals
Oh yeah here's the guts
This might be a cool shot, see all 3 lenses I have right now
This update is mostly for the video below. I'm currently struggling with the OLED dying on me... not literally dying but code... still haven't figure out what is causing it. I will say comparing the Pi Zero with RPI 4, RPi 4 is (obviously?) much better... I'm not sure if it's purely a hardware issue I'm facing or just bad code.

Barrel rings
12/12/2023 at 21:59 • 0 commentsThese grip onto the small lenses and make them more easy to use.
These are for changing the aperture and focus
It looks bad though... I think because it's made out of plastic.
It's hard to photograph the features since it's black but here's the design

Design and Assembly
12/12/2023 at 19:07 • 0 commentsI don't have a job at the moment (until Thursday) so I've been able to dump 3-4 days in a row into this project.
See the videos, as I write this I'm still working on the code to make it work fully, just mentally drained
