PLA is preferred to ABS as you do not have to deal with nasty plastic smells. If this is used with a second filter, the plastic is never in touch with the coffee, nor with high temperature water.
The AeroTamper allows to brew espresso-style coffee right from the AeroPress coffee maker

With this tamper you can get a little crema, and the flavor does change a little bit. But that said, coffee made with the Aeropress is delicious already! This is just to add some variety and experimentation.
Neat, I've been using an aeropress for the better part of a decade and never thought to compress the grounds first. Wonder if it will work with stainless steel filter...
That would be an interesting thing to try!! However, you would still need a paper filter on top to prevent the ground beans from floating around when pressure is applied.
Ah! And there is the trick. I think one of these turned on a lathe would be really nice. Will report results.
That would be awesome!! I've been meaning to do that for years but just never got to it! I'd love to see the results!

Why do you need it? When I make coffee, most of grounds settle at bottom already. Does it really change flavour?
