I am try to rotate hard disk motor at particular rpm so that i can attach some led and program them to display desire result. The issue that the motor is 3-phase dc motor and all it need different pulse to move the motor continuous . I have tried motor ic LM239D and also tried with n555 timer . But can't archive desire rpm. Still struggling
The hard disk is western digital (WD800BD)
I have found out the pin configuration of the motor

The HD motor is kind of BLDC. For high speed and no stall, you need to interprete the back EMF, from the Motor, to switch at the rigt moment. Another way is to use a magnet and hall sensor for that, like its done in CD/DVD spindlemotors. One way to archieve this is to find out the driver chip on the HD, look for its datasheet and use it. Here you can find a lot about driving BLDCs http://www.microchip.com/design-centers/motor-control-and-drive/motor-types/bldc
