So this will be the first project this year. 26 vibrant RGB LEDs, custom PCBs, and 3D-printed caps that bring the "2025" display to life. also, the less are controlled using XIAO ESP32C3
Supplies
- Seeed Studio XIAO ESP32C3
- WS2812B LED *26
- PCB
- TOOLS
- SOLDERING KIT
- 3D PRINTER
- GLUE
Step 1: Designing the PCB
The PCB designing process was incredibly simple, thanks to Flux.ai. This browser-based PCB design tool leverages AI to assist with hardware design. I also used the AI auto-tracing feature to trace my PCB. After placing all the components in their respective positions, I clicked on "auto layout, " and it completed the job. Once I finished designing the PCB, I exported the Gerber file for manufacturing
Step 2: PCB Fabrication
After designing the PCB, I exported it to a Gerber file. I used the Seeed Studio Fusion service to order the PCB. I uploaded the Gerber file to the website, chose a black colour for the PCB, and placed the order.

Step 3: WLED Installation
To do this, go to the WLED installation page on GitHub; you can find the link in my description. Connect your XIAO ESP32-C3 to your computer, select "ESP32-C3" as the board type, click "Install, " and choose your XIAO from the port options. After installing, enter your Wi-Fi password and SSID, and click "OK."

Step 4: PCB Assembly
I used the hand soldering method to attach an LED to the PCB. First, I melted some solder on one pad of the PCB and placed the LED on it while keeping heat on the pad. After that, I connected the remaining pins. This made soldering the LED much easier. also, I used the same method for soldering the XIAO
Step 5: 3D Printing & Final Assumably
I used Fusion 360 to design the 3D numbers. The inside of the 3d print is hollow, and the backside is open-faced. I used white PLA+ filament for 3D printing these letters so it would illuminate with the LED. then I used some glue to put this letter caps over the LED
Step 6: Final Test
I used the USB port of the XIAO for powering this PCB. I tried different LED light patters that available on the WLED app
Step 7: Step 6: Do You Need Free PCBA for Your Led Project ?
