For 80 years, computer systems have been influenced by their storage technology. Mercury delay lines, Cathode Ray Tubes, magnetic drums, core, tape and disks, and eventually in 1970 silicon based RAM.
This project wants to explore low density, semi-permanent storage based on moving media and optical sensing techniques.
I named this project Blink, which most of us associate with the flashing of LEDs under the control of a microcontroller.
Here I am dealing with the opposite, the input of serial data into a microcontroller from a moving optical tape using photo-diodes.
