Ready and survived the competition!!!
05/20/2025 at 16:40 • 0 commentsIt was a tight build schedule but I managed to finish the robot on the night before the competition. I tested the weapon and it seemed to make a good amount of sound and it convinced me of it ability to hit things. I came in for the event on Sunday and the day started with 3 rounds of round-robin qualifiers. However, I was unable to get through safety check before my first fight since I ignored the need for a clear LED. I got it ready in-time for the second fight and went up against a solid flipper. I lost that match due to being flipped side-ways. I was aware of the possibility of that happening and had a plan to do something for it but never came around to doing anything for it due to lack of time. Important thing to do for the next iteration! I went for my 3rd match and I managed to survive long-enough for my opponent to fall into the pit giving me 1 and only win for the event. My robot thankfully winning 1 match(which was kinda my goal for the event) gave me a chance to get into a mini-rumble of sorts to try qualify for the knockouts, but I ended up loosing in that, ending Spinfu's run at its 1st tournament. I did get the opportunity to get these fights and think about further improvements for the next iteration of the robot. I will be making a proper project page/proper logs for the next version along with build instructions for the revised version.

A bit of redesign and we seem to be almost there!
05/15/2025 at 22:21 • 0 commentsMy previous weapon mount was too heavy causing the robot to be almost 10gs overweight(yeeesssshhhh). I spent some time to cut weight down, got some reprints done, changing the base chassis to an older versionb and now seem to have the robot exactly at 150g. I need to do some soldering and assembly work, but we should be almost there to do some test runs!

Parts are printed!
05/13/2025 at 12:05 • 0 commentsGot the robot chassis printed and cleaned today from makerspace. I tried measuring it, and it is going almost 10gs overweight. Need to make some adjustments to the design to get the weight down since I can't reduce any more on the electronics side.
