Gridfinity Custom PCB base plate generator

Python script generating 3d printable openSCAD gridfinity bases for your custom PCBs.

Similar projects worth following
This python script allows you to attache virtualy any PCB you want onto a gridfinity base. This allows you to build electronics protos in a clean and repeatable manner.

Use the link to gitlab to get the code.

For once I looked around the internet before re-inventing the wheel and found the turbo case project. I then simply had to tweak a few things in it to allow for multiple templates. One for the original design of a case around your electronics, and now a new one where only the bottom part of the box is built but a gridfinity base is added.

For now the script only accepts kicad files, I find "recreating" the PCB outline and screw holes to be not be too annoying, but that sure would be nice to directly be able to import altium files (or other formats). Apart from supporting more files I am happy about the state of the project as it fits my need, but new ideas are always welcome on how this could be improved.

    Run the python script

Clone the gitlab repo and run the script as described in the README.md. You will need a representation of your board in kicad format, a simple drawing of the edge of your PCB and position of the screw holes is all you need in that file.
